Breadboard Compatiable 3.3V Linear Voltage Regulator with LM317

Project Type: PCB Project

Platform: EasyEDA

Features:

  • Compatiable with standard breadboard/project board
  • The PCB can handle large current as copper pour is used
  • Low cost Single layer PCB.
  • Can be printed with DIY techniques like toner transfer easily.
  • Large input voltage range.

Design rule:

  • Trace width :50 mil or 1.27mm (min)
  • Clearance: 25 mil or 0.635mm (min)

 Special notes:

1. 5V input may not be enough for this design as LM317 needs 3V headroom for proper regulation. See more here.

2. Use a heat sink if you are going to draw large currents( I recommend one if the value is abouve 150mA).

3. Use a small ESR capacitor in near proximity to any microcontroller or boards you are going to power. Learn more about how decoupling capacitors work.
